On Monday morning, the office was unusually quiet. Most people were focused on a big presentation for a new client. Our team had worked fast and furious for two weeks, and today was the final check.

I was sitting near the window when I noticed a strange smell. At first, I thought it was just someone’s lunch, but then I saw a thin line of smoke rising from the corner of the copy room. I stood up quickly.
