“Thin Walls and Thick Problems”

John had just moved into a small apartment in the city. It was cheap, but the thin walls made it easy to hear everything from the next room. His neighbor was a slender man named Tom who liked playing the guitar late at night. John, a lean office worker, needed to sleep early because of his job.

One night, John knocked on Tom’s door. “Hey, could you keep the music down?” he asked politely.

“Sorry,” Tom said, “I didn’t know it bothered you. These walls are thin like paper.”

They both laughed. Over time, they became friends. Tom helped John cook, though John’s soup was always too thick, and Tom helped him thin it by adding water.

One day, Tom said, “There’s a thin line between being honest and being rude. Thanks for being honest.” They both smiled.
