Title: The Obvious Choice

At GreenTech Inc., the manager had to choose a leader for a new project. There were three candidates: Sarah, Tom, and Ken. Each had different strengths, but to most people, the choice seemed obvious.

Sarah had been working at the company for five years. She was always on time, clear in her communication, and often found the most obvious solution to problems. Her coworkers often said she was the obvious choice.

Tom was also a good worker, but sometimes his ideas were unclear and difficult to understand. Ken was new, and though he was smart, it was not obvious whether he could handle the pressure.

One day, the manager called everyone to a meeting. “I know some of you think the decision is obvious,” she said. “But I want to explain.”

She talked about each person’s strengths. It became apparent that she had thought deeply about it. Finally, she said, “The leader of this project will be Sarah.”

Everyone nodded. It was an unmistakable decision. Sarah smiled, thankful and ready. The difference between her and the others had been obvious, and now she had her chance to prove it.
