Title: The Hole in the Floor

Lisa worked in a small office on the second floor of an old building. One day, she noticed a strange sound whenever she walked near her desk. Curious, she moved the rug and found a hole in the wooden floor. It wasn’t very big, but it looked deep.

She called the building manager. “There’s a hole in the floor under my desk,” she said.

The manager came to inspect it. “Hmm,” he said, “this could be dangerous. Someone might fall into the hole.”

He quickly called a carpenter, who arrived with tools and filled the hole with new wood. “It must have been caused by wear and tear,” the carpenter said.

While working, the carpenter also noticed a gap in the wall near the window. “This might be from the rain,” he added. “I’ll fix this opening too.”

After everything was repaired, Lisa returned to her desk. She felt much safer. She laughed and said to her coworker, “All that trial and error just to find out I had a hole in my floor!”
