Title: A Cry for Help
At 7 p.m., Julia was finishing her work at the library when she heard a loud cry outside. It was a voice crying for help. Without thinking, she ran to the entrance and saw a boy sitting on the ground. He had fallen off his bike and was sobbing. His knee was bleeding, and he looked frightened.
Julia immediately knelt beside him and asked, “Are you okay?” The boy said through tears, “It hurts so much.” Julia called for help using her phone, and within minutes, a nearby security guard arrived. They helped the boy to a bench and gave him some water.
While they waited for the ambulance, Julia talked to him to keep him calm. She asked about his school and hobbies. Despite his pain, he smiled a little when he talked about his dog. Soon, his mother arrived, crying with worry but grateful. She thanked Julia many times.
The next day, Julia received a letter. It was from the boy’s mother. “Thank you for being there,” it said. “Your kindness made a big difference.” Julia felt happy. That night, she thought about the cry for help. She was glad she had responded.
