Emma always loved to make things with her hands. While other kids played outside, she spent hours in the kitchen. She would create cookies, cakes, and pies using her grandmother’s old recipes. Her dream was to make money from baking one day.
One summer, Emma decided to try. She made a decision to open a small bakery stand in front of her house. Her parents helped her build a wooden table, and her friends helped her make a sign.
On the first day, she sold out all her cookies. A local newspaper wrote about her. “A young girl who can bake like a pro!” the article said. Emma made new friends with her customers, and they returned every day.
But one day, she made a mistake. She forgot to add sugar to her cookies. “This could make or break my reputation,” she thought. She gave her customers a free cookie the next day and said, “Live and learn, right?”
Thanks to her honesty and kindness, people trusted her more. Emma learned that to make something great, you sometimes have to break a few eggs—and maybe forget the sugar once.
