After working at a computer firm for five years, I decided to start my own company. I always dreamed of creating an enterprise that would help small businesses manage their websites. My friends gave me the courage to leave my old organization and try something new.
At first, it was not easy. I had no clients and very little money. However, I enjoyed the company of my team. We supported each other and worked day and night. I remember saying, “Let’s eat together like in the old Latin meaning of ‘company’—‘with bread.’” That made everyone laugh.
Soon, we had our first project. I created the design, and my friend handled the code. Another member took care of company meetings and wrote a clear company policy. Within a year, we had ten clients.
One day, I was sitting in quiet solitude, thinking about how far we had come. I didn’t feel loneliness, because I had good friends and company. Running a corporation was challenging, but the food and company at our small celebrations made everything worth it.
Now, I’m proud to say that I run a company that helps others grow. And the best part? I’m never alone.
